Introduction from the A Reps (Welcome, Time Trials and Swimtopia signup!)

Greetings, Dolphins!

Welcome to all, and congrats on completing a terrific first week of practice! Kate and I are your "A" meet reps, and we very much look forward to greeting/welcoming you in person. Our main job is to run the Saturday morning “A” meets, which means recruiting the dozens of volunteers it takes to make a meet happen. We thank you in advance for pitching in.

This summer, thanks to our team administrators, Shelly O’Brien and Tracy Kroloff, the Dolphins are using the streamlined and user-friendly Swimtopia program. Signing up for meets and volunteering is super easy. And the fun starts a week from tomorrow (June 8) with the Bannockburn Time Trials!

This relaxed meet (along with the Blue Out on June 12) allows swimmers to practice racing and volunteers to learn to time etc.

If you haven’t signed up for the event. Please follow these steps.

  1. Hop on the Bannockburn Swim Team website (www.bannockburndolphins.com).
  2. Click on “2019 Schedule.”
  3. Click on “Time Trials.”
  4. You will see two green buttons on your right, one for volunteering and one for signing up your child to swim.

To sign up your swimmer for the meet:

Click the green MEET ENTRY tab and you will see your child’s name adjacent to a drop down. Click “attending the meet.”

To sign up to volunteer:

Click the green JOB SIGNUP tab and sign up for volunteer shifts (note one parent may sign up both parents for jobs -- scroll down and you’ll see the other parent listed). None of these jobs require prior experience.

Click Save Assignments.

We urge you to pull out your summer calendars and register to volunteer for meets in advance. Every family is expected to volunteer for at least 3 meets during the season (6 if your child(ren) swim both A and B meets). But volunteering even more is more fun and more helpful! Thanks so much, and please, do find us if you have questions about the Saturday morning meets or anything else Dolphin related. See you on deck!

Cheers,

Michelle Brafman ([email protected]) and Kate Wassiliew ([email protected])
