Coach’s Check-In: Friday Shenanigans, Saturday A Meet!
June 17th
Dear Bannockburn Dolphins,
Well done at last night’s B meet. I think we are just about ready for dual meets! We have an exciting next few days ahead of us, so let’s go through them in order:
- Morning practices have started and are held Mondays-Fridays 8:30-9:30am. After practice on Fridays, we will also be serving Friday Morning Donuts(!) under the pavilion at 10am.
- This Friday, after stroke & turn clinic from 5-6pm, we are having our first weekly Pasta Potluck Night. Please bring a covered dish (no glass) to share and our volunteers will help dish it out. Come ready to eat and practice some team cheers in preparation for…
- Our very first A meet vs. Merrimack Park on Saturday morning! This is for swimmers who have received a notification about being in the meet lineup (which I have attached to this email). Here’s a breakdown of everything you need to know:
- Arrival time: 7:30am @ Bannockburn.
- Theme: Team Spirit Parade. Show up wearing your team gear, blue, dolphins, and any and all things Bannockburn. We will then parade over to Merrimack together. Departure time @ 7:55am. (Note: Face paint is no longer allowed, as it made a mess that our lifeguards had to spend hours cleaning up last night. But we will still provide dolphin tattoos!)
- Warmups: 8:25-8:45am @ Merrimack.
- Meet start time: 9am
- Volunteers: Thank you so much to all parents who have volunteered! We’ve almost filled our spots, just need one more volunteer to be our automation verifier.
- RSVP: If your swimmer was included in the lineup but is unavailable to swim in this meet, it is critical for you to let us know so that we can give another swimmer the opportunity to swim.
- Rules: When competing at an away meet, we are required to follow the hosting team’s pool rules. I have attached the Merrimack meet protocols; please read through them and make sure that they will be followed. In addition, please help your swimmers understand that, as guests of Merrimack, it is important for us to show our rival team courtesy and good sportsmanship.
That should cover it all for now. I look forward to seeing everyone at the pool!
Cheers,
Coach Lisa
