Updates: Week of June 27th
Hi Bannockburn Families –
We are almost month into our summer swim team season but things are only just starting to heat up! Check out the incredible schedule this week:
Wednesday, June 30th - Palisades @ Bannockburn Pool! We can’t wait to welcome our neighborhood rival the Palisades to our first DUAL B-Meet at Bannockburn Pool!
- Please sign up for this meet by TONIGHT Sunday, June 27th at 11pm.
- Don’t forget - if your swimmer placed 1-3rd in any event during the A-Meet (vs. Kentlands) they may NOT swim that particular event in this upcoming B-Meet.
- We are still looking for a 1-verifier (hang out in the shade while you double check computer-entered times are correct)!
- Here’s your chance to pre-order for Wednesday night! Tell us how many Cheese Pizzas (large 16"/$15.00 each) you want and we will have your Potomac Pizza Cheese Pizza Pies waiting for you! Send your order to Michael Hyman @ [email protected] (by Tuesday @ noon).
Thursday, July 1st – Bingo Night! Join as Coaches Gideon, Rene and Valerie kick off our first Thursday night social event right after swim practice! Do it for the prizes! Make a dinner out of it by ordering from BBQ Bus Food Truck from 4:00-8:00.
Friday Night Practice – OK OK…we hear you Bannockburn. You don’t love our new Friday evening rule. We tried to make practice size more manageable…but hold up…we’ve got another idea:
NEW FRIDAY STROKE AND TURN PRACTICE SCHEDULE (Stroke and Turn practices are perfect for extra help with starts and turns). ALL ARE WELCOME.
- 5:00-5:30 – 10&U- (10-years old or younger)
- 5:30-6:00 - 11&O- (11-years old and older)
Friday, July 2nd – First Inaugural Parent/Coaches Vs. Kids Dive Meet @ 6:00-7:00 (Bannockburn Pool). Show off your Cannonballs, Belly Flops Battles, Divers Dive and Swimmers Dive! Like it or not, you WILL get a score! ALL ARE WELCOME (yes, even the A-Meet Swimmers – that we previously told to stay home and rest). Don’t forget to grab dinner at Pepe – Spanish/Jose Andres’ Food Truck from 4:30-7:30.
Saturday, July 3rdh –Bannockburn @ River Falls (7915 Horseshoe Ln, Potomac, MD 20854). River Falls is an easy 15-minute drive up MacArthur Blvd – get ready for our first crazy caravan! Don’t forget to update your availability ASAP under Upcoming Events so that coaches can accurately determine the line-up.
