July 1st Swim Team Updates
Wow Bannockburn…never have I ever seen you all run so fast, after the lightning and thunder started during last night’s meet.Maybe it’s time to ditch the “Dolphin” mascot and become the Bannockburn Lightning BOLTS!
Great swims against Palisades last night! Huge shout-out to all the volunteers that huddled under the pavilion in the pouring rain to finish writing the ribbons! On that note…don’t forget to pick up all your ribbons.
Friday Night Practice – Don’t forget our new FriYAY (I promised myself I'd never ever write that) STROKE AND TURN SCHEDULE. ALL ARE WELCOME.

Bingo Night RESCHEUDLED for FRIDAY NIGHT! Join as Coaches Gideon, Rene and Valerie kick off our first Thursday night social event right after swim practice! There WILL BE PRIZES! Tons of PRIZES!!
Make it a double…also FRIDAY NIGHT (July 2nd) – CALLING ALL PARENTS (seriously…we need you)…First Inaugural Parent/Coaches Vs. Kids Dive Meet @ 6:00-7:00 (Bannockburn Pool). We are partnering with our very own Bannockburn Dive Team! Show off your Cannonballs, Belly Flops, Divers Dive and Swimmers Dive! Like it or not, you WILL get a score! Sign up when you get there...this is a stress-free event! Don’t forget to grab dinner at Pepe – Spanish/Jose Andres’ Food Truck from 4:30-7:30.
Saturday, July 3rdh–Bannockburn @ River Falls (7915 Horseshoe Ln, Potomac, MD 20854). River Falls is an easy 15-minute drive up MacArthur Blvd – get ready for our first crazy fun caravan! If you see your name on the line-up but you are unable to attend, please contact coach Lisa ASAP. Please see the attached meet protocols for River Falls.
- 7:30/7:45 am – Meet at Bannockburn for Caravan (arrive early to decorate your car)
- 7:55am - Caravan Departure
- 8:25am - Warm-Ups at River Falls

Wednesday, July 7th- Bannockburn @ Somerset Pool B-Meet (5545 Warwick Place, Chevy Chase, MD 20815)! Finally, our very first B-Meet hosted by another team!
- Please sign up for this meet by Sunday, June 11th at 11pm. Somerset has already warned us they will NOT accept deck entries – so get your entries in early!
- Don’t forget - if your swimmer placed 1-3rd in any event during the A-Meet (vs. River Falls) they may NOT swim that particular event in this upcoming B-Meet (FYI – we didn’t just make this rule up, ALL our neighboring pools follow this exact same rule, thanks for your understanding).

Sunday, July 11th – PARENT SWIM MEET @ Bannockburn Pool - Oh yeah…you read that correctly… stay tuned for details (right after I do a little swim practice to prepare myself for the parent meet…)!
