Coaching Staff:

So Long Coach Long – Bannockburn says goodbye to Coach Lisa Long as she begins a new journey in Iowa. We are so appreciative of her amazing swim instruction and coaching spirit. Bannockburn wishes Coach Lisa all the best in the Midwest.

Can we skip to the good part? We do have some incredible news to share – we literally struck gold with our new head coach! Malena Lair Ferrari is an accomplished professional swim coach for Sea Devils and Holton Arms. She also teaches at the German International School of Washington DC. Not only does Malena have 10+ years’ experience as the head coach at Bannockburn, she literally grew up on the Bannockburn swim team! We would be hard pressed to find anyone more familiar with Bannockburn.

Practice Schedule and Team Registration:

Your volunteer swim team committee is already getting a head start on summer – we are currently working to create a 2022 practice schedule and open team registration by mid-March. We will keep you posted on our progress.

Volunteers:

What’s a Bannockburn Swim Team email without a plea for volunteers? Parent volunteers are the heart of our swim team program and we simply can't operate without you. You guys are in serious luck as there are many volunteer openings! Dig deep and find your inner volunteer.

Are you type A? Love scheduling and organizing? Sounds like you’d be a perfect B-REP! B-Reps are responsible for scheduling and planning Wednesday night B-Meets!

Are you great with computers/data entry? Do you love watching meets from the shade? Sounds like you’d be a great candidate for Automation! The Automation Team is responsible for entering data, i.e. swimmers times, into the data base!

Do you love nourishing hungry swimmers? Do you believe food affects mood and performance? Then Hospitality is the opportunity for you! The Hospitality Team plans concessions for the @ Bannockburn Pool swim meets. The team also helps plan our famous Friday night team pasta dinners!

Plot twist…we know your kids aren’t expecting this one…do you want the most VIP spot in the house (#coolestoutfit). Please consider supporting the team by becoming a Montgomery County Swim League (MCSL) official-a stroke and turn judge, a starter, or even a referee by taking an online clinic.
