Hi Bannockburn Families,

We've officially reached the halfway point of the summer season!

It's hard to believe we're already halfway through, but there's still plenty of swimming left. Let's make the second half of the season our best yet!

Although yesterday’s score against Regency Estates didn't fall our way, one thing was abundantly clear - we won the meet in kindness and hospitality (we’ll take it!). Their coaches and families repeatedly thanked us for being such welcoming hosts, and that says a lot about our community. Thank you to every family who helped make Bannockburn a place where visiting teams break MCSL records and feel welcome.

Relay Carnival Highlights

Our Bannockburn Relay Carnival swims were AMAZING today! We are so proud of the teamwork, sportsmanship, and fast swimming our team brought to the pool. Did you know when a relay wins their event in the A-Meet Relay Carnival, they are instant qualifiers for All Star Relays (July 25th)?

Congrats to the following All-Star Relay Qualifiers:

• 13-14 200 Freestyle Relay Mixed (Mai Lan Bui, Jonah Hu, Valerie Merriam, David Zand)
• 8&U 100 Medley Boys (Giuseppe Costa, Forrest Cody, Bobby Craft, Freddie Banyai)

Congrats to the following relay for smashing the existing Bannockburn Record:

• 13-14 200 Medley Boys (David Zand, Max Genereux, Jonah Hu, Eli Nigri)

Congratulations to everyone who competed and represented Bannockburn so well! Especially the Coaches and Parent Relays - both took home the Bronze!

This Week's MVPs (NO it’s not the swimmers)...

We don’t always make the B-Meet rules, but B-Meet Reps, Natalie Silverman and Cristina Gomez review each and every swimmer entry to ensure we don’t break them. It just occurred to us that YOU would be perfect for this task too! Let us know if you want to become the newest B-Meet Rep!

Janet Carter & Mariana Zand - Thank you for organizing Mission BBQ for the team! Nothing says summer swim quite like a great BBQ after a meet.

Chi Nguyen, Chris Rogers, Seyi Badmus, Lawrence Craft, Ben Stoll, Ashish Venugopal,Vu Bui & Tingting Hu - Thank you for absolutely crushing it as our officials this week. Your attention to detail and professionalism help keep every meet running smoothly.

Priyanka Venugopal - Our newest A-Rep wasted no time jumping right in! She pulled double duty by setting up food concessions and organizing the swim team closet. Thank you for helping wherever needed - we're so lucky to have you on the team!

Does your swimmer LOVE earning ribbons? Don’t forget to thank Laurie Banach and Julia Gilbert for creating all the ribbons for the A and B meets this week!

How does your kid find their way to the correct heat and lane at the perfect time? It’s certainly not by chance - thanks to Ed Dorsey, Atoosa Rabiee, Katie Harb and Melody Sakazaki for wrangling the swimmers as the Clerk of Course.

Did it rain ALL day today? Yes it did. Thanks to our Team Tent Warriors, Lisa Forkin and Kevin Nigri, Bannockburn swimmers and families had some shelter from the rain during the relay meet. Are the soaking wet tents still in their cars? Signs point to YES 🎱.

Witness someone going above and beyond? Let us know! Maybe we will even give YOU a shoutout for the shoutout!

B-Meet Eligibility

• Swimmers may swim up to 3 individual events plus IM.
• If a swimmer placed 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in an event at Saturday's A-Meet, they may not swim that same event on Wednesday.
