The Home Stretch of the Season + Meet Recap!
Hi Bannockburn Families,
I'd like to apologize in advance...this is one of those long Sunday emails. But stick with it- it's packed with important dates, exciting announcements, celebrations, and just a little bit of Bannockburn magic sprinkled throughout. I promise it'll be worth the scroll!
While the season may be winding down, the next two weeks are some of the busiest - and most exciting - of the entire summer. From Coaches Long Course and the Pre-Team Meet to Divisionals, the End-of-the-Season Banquet, and plenty of fun along the way, there's still a lot to look forward to.
Clarksburg Village Meet Highlights
We drove super far, we swam super fast, and with the heat advisory...the parents were super hot! How's that for a Clarksburg recap?
Alright, so we didn’t win, but we can walk away proud of our swimmers that gave it their all, teammates who cheer until they're hoarse, and coaches/volunteers who make every meet possible.
Record-Breaking Performances
Congratulations to two Dolphins who had an unforgettable morning at Clarksburg Village!
Kairav Venugopal had an incredible meet, setting two records:
- Bannockburn Team Record- Boys 9-10 25 Backstroke - 17.21
- Clarksburg Village Pool Record - Boys 9–10 25 Butterfly - 15.93, an absolutely electric swim!
David Zand continued his outstanding season by setting a new Clarksburg Village Pool Record in the Boys 13-14 50 Backstroke with a blazing 29.93!

This Week at Bannockburn
Monday, July 6
B-Meet Registration Closes at 5:00 PM
Wednesday's B-Meet vs. Mohican (AT BANNOCKBURN)
If your swimmer plans to swim on Wednesday, they must be registered in SwimTopia by 5:00 PM Monday.
No late entries. No exceptions.
B-Meet Eligibility
- Open to all Bannockburn Swim Team swimmers.
- Swimmers may enter up to three individual stroke events plus IM.
- Swimmers who placed 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in an event at the previous A-Meet may not swim that same event at the B-Meet.
Tuesday, July 7
Coaches Long Course Meet
The Coaches Long Course Meet is one of the most prestigious meets of the summer, featuring only the top eight swimmers in Montgomery County in each event.

Wednesday, July 8
Home B-Meet vs. Mohican
- Warm-Ups: 5:00 PM
- Meet Begins: 6:00 PM
Wednesday morning practice will include fun team activities with Mohican beginning at 8:30AM. Any swim team member interested in participating should plan to attend Wednesday morning practice.
We still need 5-timers and there are TONS of other volunteer spots open! Thanks in advance.

Mark your calendars! Our Pre-Team swimmers have been working hard all summer to develop their skills and perfect their freestyle, backstroke, and kicking. We can’t wait to see how far they've come during our annual Pre-Team Meet!
One of the best Bannockburn traditions is watching our Swim Team athletes support our newest swimmers. Swim Team members will help guide Pre-Team swimmers to their lanes, time each race, and cheer them on every step of the way.
Following the meet, everyone is invited to stay for pizza and the Pre-Team Awards Celebration as we recognize all of our amazing swimmers.

End-of-Season Banquet

Join swimmers, families, coaches, and volunteers as we recognize this season's accomplishments, celebrate our graduating seniors, present awards, laugh about the summer's memories, and wrap up another unforgettable Bannockburn season with our famous end of season video created by Jessica Clancy (checkout previous years videos HERE. Because of last year's monsoon, we are planning this year's banquet at Maggiano’s!

Divisionals & Final Practices
The MCSL Division C Championship Meet takes place on Saturday, July 18.
This is our championship meet of the season, where Bannockburn will compete against all five Division C teams. The top two finishers in each event will earn the opportunity to represent Bannockburn at the MCSL All-Star Meet. Coaching staff will let you know if your swimmer has been selected.

Join the fun during the Bannockburn Top 25 Parent & Alumni Race at the conclusion of our Saturday, July 11 A-Meet.
Don't worry...it's only a 25 Freestyle! It's the perfect opportunity to cool off, show off your swimming skills, and remind your kids that you've still got a little speed left.
Whether you're racing for bragging rights or just a good laugh, we'd love to see you on the blocks!
